FAQ

Questions, answered honestly.

Including the ones we cannot fully answer yet — we would rather say so than make something up.

  • What is Doubletaire?

Doubletaire is a new take on solitaire built around two layouts that are connected to each other. You play familiar solitaire on both sides, and under the right conditions a card in one game can create a new possibility in the other.

  • Is Doubletaire solitaire?

Yes. Each layout is played as Klondike-style solitaire — build the tableau down in alternating colours, build the foundations up by suit from Ace to King, draw from the stock when you need to. The difference is that the two layouts are connected.

  • Can I play alone?

Yes. In Solo mode you manage both connected layouts yourself. That is the core of the game, not a reduced version of it.

  • Can I play with another person?

Yes. In Play Together, two people each take one of the layouts and work toward a connected result. It is cooperative — you are solving one challenge between you.

  • How does card sharing work?

Conceptually: when the game's connection conditions are satisfied, a card can move from one layout to the other, where it may unlock a move that was not previously available. The exact conditions are still being designed and tested, so we are not publishing them yet — we would rather say nothing than say something that changes.

  • Is Doubletaire competitive or cooperative?

The current direction is cooperative. Play Together is about two people reaching a shared result rather than racing each other. That is where the design is focused today; it is not a statement that nothing else will ever exist.

  • When will Doubletaire be available?

There is no release date to announce yet. Doubletaire is in active development, and we would rather give you a date once we can stand behind it.

  • Which devices will it support?

Doubletaire is being built for iOS first, and the app identity is reserved with Apple. We have not confirmed other platforms yet, so we are not going to promise them here.

  • Does the website track me?

Only in aggregate. The site uses Vercel Web Analytics, which counts page views without cookies and without building a profile of you. See the privacy page for the details.
