About

What happens when two solitaire games can help each other?

That question is the whole of Doubletaire. Everything else follows from it.

Solitaire has lasted because a shuffled deck produces an enormous number of decisions from very simple rules. You can learn it in a minute and still be finding new lines years later. It does not need reinventing.

So Doubletaire does not reinvent it. It puts two solitaire layouts side by side and connects them. Each one still plays exactly the way you expect. What changes is that they are no longer sealed off from one another — under the right conditions, a card in one can create a possibility in the other.

That single change alters how you read the table. A card that is a dead end on its own side might be the most valuable card you have. Progress stops being two parallel tracks and becomes one problem with two halves.

Familiar enough to begin. Different enough to rethink every move.

What we care about

How Doubletaire is being built

Easy to begin

If you can play solitaire, you can start playing Doubletaire immediately.

Readable at a glance

Two layouts on one screen only works if both stay legible. Clarity comes before decoration.

Strategically interesting

The connection adds decisions, not clutter. There is usually more than one way through.

Respectful of your time

No pressure loops, no manufactured urgency. Play a hand, or play for an hour.

Where things stand

Doubletaire is in active development. The connection is designed, the two-layout game is playable in concept, and the exact conditions for sharing cards between layouts are still being tested. We are not claiming a release date until we can keep it.
